Reliable journalist feels Manchester City winger Savinho would be a good fit at Tottenham
Tottenham Hotspur have had to make adjustments to their transfer plans following recent developments. The departure of Son Heung-min and the long-term injury to James Maddison has left the club in desperate need for new attacking players.
Spurs have been linked with several players of late, but on late Sunday night, reports emerged about their interest in Manchester City winger Savinho. As per reputable journalist Fabrizio Romano, the north Londoners have opened talks with Manchester City over a possible deal for Savinho. In fact, negotiations are ongoing as Tottenham have already sent the first offer worth €50m for the Brazilian winger, who is keen on a move to White Hart Lane if the two clubs can agree on a fee. Man City are open to selling him, but only as per their terms.
Savinho was a regular under Pep Guardiola in his debut season at Man City after arriving from French club Troyes, scoring three times and supplying 13 assists in 48 appearances across all competitions. But the Sky Blues signed Rayan Cherki from Lyon in a £30m deal this summer, which could limit the South American’s opportunities at the Etihad Stadium.
Journalist reveals why Savinho is suited to Tottenham
Thomas Frank has indicated Savinho as an ideal player, as Tottenham look to bring in reinforcements over the coming days and weeks. The ex-Girona man is open to a move to White Hart Lane, and TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey has further revealed why the player is “appealing” to the Lilywhites.
“Savinho, as we revealed, is appealing to Spurs. Whilst he would not be cheap, his wages are somewhat less than a Rodrygo or Kolo Muani, for instance, and would likely be a better fit in those terms to the Spurs squad,” TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey exclusively revealed.
“Savinho at 21 is full of promise, has a full Premier League season under his belt and when Spurs were told he could be available, it is easy to see why their interest was piqued.”

Savinho would be a major coup for Thomas Frank
Savinho showed flashes of his potential in his maiden Premier League campaign, and when the likes of experienced trio Kevin de Bruyne, Ilkay Gundogan and Bernardo Silva struggled, he became City’s assist-machine with 13 in all competitions. Apart from craft and vision, the diminutive Brazilian would bring versatility to Frank’s squad, as he is able to play on either wing and in a No.10 position as well.
At 21, he is a player with huge ceiling, which Frank would be responsible to unlock at Tottenham if a move materialises. All in all, Daniel Levy luring Savinho from the Etihad Stadium to White Hart Lane would be a massive coup of sorts for us.
