Thomas Frank is pleased with Tottenham Hotspur star Richarlison
The 2025-26 season has just started but the new Tottenham Hotspur coach Thomas Frank has already faced some significant tests. For instance, his first official match with Spurs was against one of the most in-form sides in Europe, Paris Saint-Germain, in the UEFA Super Cup.
After that, the Dane led his team to two matches in the Premier League. The first one was against Burnley, while the second one was against one of the top sides in England, Manchester City. The North London team’s performances in all of these matches has been very good, even though they were unable to win the Super Cup on penalty shoot-out.
In addition to getting these good results, Thomas Frank has also been able to bring out the best of some players. One such player who has improved visibly under the new coach is the forward Richarlison, who gave an assist against City and scored a brace against Burnley.
The Dane praises Richarlison
As per a report from TBRFootball, the Danish tactician himself has been very satisfied with the Brazilian, and expressed this satisfaction on two different occasions.

Talking to the press before the game against City, the Spurs head-coach spoke highly of Richarlison:
“Of course, I think any player needs confidence. For a striker, the best confidence they can get is by scoring goals. I think he’s been very good – you can see him still stepping up and improving.
Richie is a top striker, so I’m so happy that he’s performed well in the last two games, and hopefully he’ll continue today. One more goal would be nice.”
Frank then once again highlighted the Brazilian’s contributions as he faced the press after winning the game against Pep Guardiola’s side:
“I think, again, Richie performed very well today. Top assist, great presence up there, work ethic – everything about it was very, very good.
We need two good strikers because we’re going to play a lot of games. And of course, Richie is now starting, so we just need to keep it going.”
Most of Spurs fans would agree with his assessment of Richarlison, as his performances in this initial phase of the season have been really good. In addition to his direct goal contributions, the Brazilian has also shown incredible fighting spirit and his aggressive pressing also suits Thomas Frank’s playing style really well.
In such a context, it will be a challenge for Dominic Solanke to overthrow the Brazilian and get his name into the Spurs starting lineup, but hopefully, he will take whatever chances that come his way to enhance his chances of getting a starting spot.
