Tottenham-linked Rodrygo open to leaving Real Madrid this summer
Tottenham Hotspur are trying their level best to improve their squad before September 1 transfer deadline.
Daniel Levy has received a lot of flak from the supporters for his lethargic approach in the transfer market. Morgan Gibbs-White ended up extending his contract at Nottingham Forest despite agreeing personal terms with Spurs, while Arsenal stole Eberechi Eze under their noses in an utter humiliation for the fans.
The Tottenham chairman must make amends and provide Thomas Frank with the weapons he needs to sustain a Champions League campaign and compete domestically. His team are in the market for a new No.10 and are looking at several options to fill James Maddison’s void. Along with that, the North London outfit have decided to go for a winger.

Real Madrid star instructs his agents to find a new club
Real Madrid star Rodrygo has been a target for the Lilywhites since last month. Tottenham held discussions with the intermediaries to understand the player’s situation at Real Madrid in July. Since Xabi Alonso has been appointed as the new boss, the Brazil international’s future at Santiago Bernabeu has been up in the air.
Rodrygo has only started two of Real Madrid’s eight competitive matches under Xabi Alonso. He has been an unused substitute in four of those games. After failing to feature in Real’s opening fixture of the new season against Osasuna, the speedy forward was handed a surprise start against newly-promoted La Liga side Real Oviedo on Sunday.
While Alonso praised the 24-year-old’s display in the 3-0 win over Real Oviedo, the player was visibly frustrated at his substitution just after the hour mark and was spotted throwing a training top onto the floor. Now, according to a report from The Athletic, Rodrygo has “instructed” Pini Zahavi and Kia Joorabchian, his agents, to look for a new destination this summer.

Tottenham would find it difficult to land Rodrygo
If Rodrygo was to leave Real, several top clubs would be keen to make him a part of their plans.
Arsenal were interested in the Brazilian before they signed Eze from Crystal Palace last week. Liverpool remain possible suitors too, especially following Luis Diaz’s big-money sale to Bayern Munich earlier this month. Manchester City also are in the mix for the versatile forward’s signature. Ironically, the Sky Blues have earmarked Rodrygo as their top target to replace Savinho if Tottenham are successful in their pursuit of the left-footed winger’s signature.
Tottenham have set their sights on signing Savinho from Man City. As per recent reports, they are ready to smash their transfer record to lure the 21-year-old away from Manchester to N17. Realistically, if the Lilywhites are planning to break the bank for a new winger, that player better be Rodrygo and not Savinho.
Rodrygo is regarded is one of the world’s best forwards, someone who has won everything at Real and now looking at a new chapter. Savinho, in contrast, is a talented player with high upside but yet to prove himself at the highest level. With the player apparently asking his agents to find a new club, Levy must give a shot at redemption by trying to bring in the South American to north London. If signed, Rodrygo could be a game-changer for Frank’s side.
