Real Madrid are not willing to meet Tottenham Hotspur’s €80 million valuation for Micky van de Ven
Micky van de Ven is into is third season with Tottenham Hotspur, hoping to keep himself fit and firing after back-to-back injury-ravaged campaigns.
The 24-year-old managed only 22 Premier League appearances during the 2024/25 campaign, enduring three injuries at different junctures. This led to him being sidelined for over 130 days. He remains a crucial part of the Spurs backline and has started the new campaign well, helping the team keep clean sheets in wins over Burnley and Manchester City.
Micky van de Ven is now again showing signs of building a strong partnership with Cristian Romero in the heart of Tottenham’s defence, and this has caught the attention of Real Madrid. The Spanish heavyweights are keeping close tabs on the Netherlands international as they look to strengthen their backline next year with a reliable centre-half.
The Lilywhites know Van de Ven’s importance and potential and value him close to €80 million.

Real Madrid not ready to meet Tottenham’s valuation of Van de Ven
According to a report from Spanish outlet Fichajes, Real Madrid are aware of Tottenham’s €80 million valuation of Van de Ven but do not want to pay that figure. As Spurs consider him an ‘untouchable’ player and view him as a strategic asset for the future, they are not going to provide any discount to Real Madrid or any other suitor.
Van de Ven wants to continue at Tottenham as he is comfortable in London, having found continuity and confidence. This also gives the club chiefs assurance that the centre-back wants to continue at Tottenham and is not looking for a new adventure. Madrid, as well, value the Dutchman’s experience and potential, but are not yet willing to make such a big investment in the current market situation.

With a contract until 2029 and huge potential to unlock, Tottenham do not want to sell Van de Ven unless an ‘irresistible offer’ arrives, the aforementioned report adds. The key decision-makers of the club view the Netherlands international as a future for the present and future.
The native from Wormer needs to stay free from injury problems to reach his high potential at Tottenham. While Madrid remain lurking in the background, Spurs can be rest assured for now that Van de Ven wants to be a part of Thomas Frank’s squad and achieve big things at the club.
