Thomas Frank hints at Randal Kolo Muani’s debut for Tottenham vs Villarreal in the Champions League
Thomas Frank will lead Tottenham Hotspur back into the Champions League after two years away against Villarreal at home on Tuesday evening.
The 51-year-old hopes to mark his Champions League debut with a victory over Villarreal, but it would be anything but straightforward. Of course, it will be one game at a time for the Danish tactician, hoping to go all the way in the Champions League after Spurs managed to reach the final back in 2019 under then-manager Mauricio Pochettino.
So, ensuring a winning start against the Spanish opponents will be Thomas Frank’s first and foremost priority. Spurs will be trying to build on their impressive 3-0 beating of West Ham United in the Premier League.

Thomas Frank confirms Randal Kolo Muani vs feature vs Villarreal
Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Frank provided some significant team news involving Randal Kolo Muani.
Randal Kolo Muani joined Tottenham on loan from Juventus on deadline day and is currently awaiting his debut. Although the France international is fit, the Spurs gaffer has questioned his ability to play with rhythm and intensity against Villarreal.
“Randal Kolo Muani, he’s ready. How many minutes? They can always play more minutes than we think,” Frank was quoted by Football London.
“And, of course, if we needed him to play, he could play 90 minutes, but can he play at the intensity, at the level we want? But, he’s ready and he’s involved tomorrow, so that’s the most important thing.”

Kolo Muani ready to make his mark for Spurs
Kolo Muani is pushing for involvement on Tuesday after being an unused substitute at West Ham. The 26-year-old netted 11 goals in 54 games for PSG and has valuable Champions League experience under his belt.
The France international is a versatile forward, capable of operating off the left and through the middle as a No.9 or secondary striker. It will be interesting to see how Frank uses the 2022 World Cup finalist and manages to get the best out of him, which we haven’t really seen since he left Eintracht Frankfurt in 2023.
Kolo Muani is a technically gifted footballer who now has the chance to make his mark for the north Londoners. We expect him to get minutes off the bench against the Yellow Submarine, as Spurs hope for a winning start on their return to the Champions League.
