Tottenham Hotspur will challenge Arsenal for the signature of Real Madrid star Arda Guler
We saw the decision-makers at Hotspur Way going along the summer transfer window looking to bring in a new creative midfielder. And it looks like the pursuit to bring in a new CAM may take up priority when January comes around as well. And that is where the North Londoners’ interest in Arda Guler comes to the surface.
Tottenham scouting Arda Guler

The Lilywhites have been credited with interest in bringing the Turk to N17. The Real Madrid playmaker has been impressing for Xavi Alonso & Co. with his three goals and three assists in eight appearances this season. And this has pushed the likes of Tottenham and Arsenal to scout the midfielder and continue monitoring his progress.
But it is not just the North London duo. The likes of Newcastle, AC Milan, Borussia Dortmund, and RB Leipzig have all been credited with having scouts present at recent Madrid games to keep an eye on the 20-year-old in action.

For Tottenham to have interest in him shows how the recruitment at Hotspur Way is changing directions with Thomas Frank at the helm. Suddenly we are watching the club looking to bring in dynamic and creative players who have the capacity to play multiple roles in the middle of the park (we already saw that with the incoming of Xavi Simons and Mohammed Kudus).
Given how he can slot into that #10 role, Arda would be an ideal alternative for James Maddison, given how the latter has been struggling with consistent injury problems since moving to Hotspur Way.
Madrid not willing to sell Arda Guler
But the problem is that Real Madrid are not willing to sell Arda. He is seen more as a long-term project under Alonso. And given how he has been playing this season and given his potential, he can surely go on and become one of the central figures at the Santiago Bernabeu.
But we will need to see the game time he gets once Jude Bellingham comes back from injury. Given that the competition in that midfield at Madrid is quite fierce, Guler is said to be relishing such a challenge. And this leaves Spurs (and everyone else interested in his services) merely circling with very little room to make something out of it. But to start this interest says that if there is a deal to be done, Tottenham would be right in the middle of it all.
