Tottenham injury concern as duo miss training ahead of Bodo/Glimt clash

Thomas Frank has two injury concerns as Tottenham prepare to face Bodo/Glimt

Tottenham Hotspur are set to turn their attention to Champions League duties this midweek. And the North Londoners are set to travel to the Arctic Circle as they prepare to face Bodo/Glimt this Tuesday.

The Lilywhites would be looking to get back to winning ways, given that they failed to grab three points against Wolves in the Premier League last weekend. It was a “sad draw” for Thomas Frank & Co., but given the schedule, the games continue to come thick and fast at Hotspur Way, and Spurs have no time to lick their wounds as the Bodo game draws close.

Solanke & Kolo Muani miss training ahead of Bodo/Glimt game.

But going into the game, the Lilywhites’ options in that #9 role remain a bit blurred, with Dominic Solanke as well as Randal Kolo Muani being absent from Monday’s main training session. The former Bournemouth star has been dealing with an ankle knock for a while now. And the summer loanee Muani has a dead leg, which is keeping him on the sidelines. (h/t Football.London)

Thomas Frank, speaking about Solanke’s ankle, insisted that it is “a little bit more tricky without being a problem.” Though given the timing, it does look like Brazilian striker Richarlison is in line to start up top in Norway this midweek. Kolo Muani’s issue is minor. But the French international has barely played since he moved to Hotspur Way on deadline day. And it is highly unlikely that Thomas Frank will gamble on him from the get-go.

While the problems with injuries remain up top, there is some good news for Frank as Ben Davies rejoined training. Summer arrival Kota Takai also featured after his plantar fascia issue. And among all, Bissouma is also building his fitness after his training injury in the final days of the summer window.

Are Tottenham over playing Richarlison?

With Tel being out of contention for the Champions League games (as he was not registered in the CL squad), it looks like another start for Richy. He does deserve to start after the performances he has been putting in. But Tottenham haven’t had the opportunity to rest the Brazilian, given that he doesn’t have any commendable backups. And given his own injury problems over the past couple of years, Frank needs to be wary of overplaying him as well.
