“There’s a chance”- Thomas Frank ready to reintegrate ‘out of favour’ Tottenham star on one condition

Thomas Frank might choose to give Yves Bissouma a lifeline at Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Yves Bissouma has yet to feature under Thomas Frank this season. The Mali international spent much of the summer linked with a move away from N17 after slipping down the pecking order under the Danish tactician. His proposed switch to Fenerbahçe collapsed at the eleventh hour, with the deal breaking down after the player sustained an untimely injury during training at Hotspur Way.

Frank has already faced several headaches in midfield this season, with a lack of depth and consistency proving problematic. The Spurs boss has experimented with Lucas Bergvall, Pape Matar Sarr, and Rodrigo Bentancur in various roles to address the issue — but a clear, long-term solution has yet to emerge.

Yves Bissouma still has a slight chance of reviving his Tottenham career under Thomas Frank.

That’s exactly where the frustration among supporters stems from. Many Tottenham fans believe that a fit and focused Bissouma could have been the ideal option to operate in the #8 role this season. His ability to break up opposition play, intercept passes, and drive the ball forward with energy and aggression offers a dimension Spurs have been missing in midfield.

Yves Bissouma can still resurrect his career at Tottenham

Tottenham fans have gotten used to Yves Bissouma’s antiques by now. The Mali international has tremendous potential to become a top player for the Lilywhites under Thomas Frank. But it his lack of discipline that has costed him his place in the squad under the Danish tactician. The 28-year-old was recently banished from the first-team after arriving late for team meetings constantly.

However, Graeme Bailey is now suggesting that the prolific midfielder still has time to save his Tottenham career and become a part of the squad this season. Speaking to TBR Football, Bailey said,

“Bissouma was close to leaving, with Turkish interest, and he didn’t want a Saudi move. There’s a chance he could be reintegrated, but I wouldn’t expect him to start. That said, Frank is a fair manager.”

The journalist added,

“If Bissouma shows up in training, works hard, and proves he can contribute, he will get his chance. Tottenham aren’t desperate for him. With players like Bentancur, Palhinha, Bergvall, and Gray in the squad, Bissouma is at the back of a long queue. He has the ability, but he has to show it.”

Graeme Bailey reports that Yves Bissouma still has a chance of getting reintegrated into the first-team setup under Thomas Frank. The Danish tactician wants Bissouma to keep his head down and work hard in training if he wants to feature for the Lilywhites again. Bailey also shares that Spurs are not desperate to give him another chance to prove his worth at N17, but they would be open to retaining him if he continues to impress in training in the coming months.

Despite these reports, we all know that Bissouma’s career at N17 is all but over. It is better for Spurs to cash-in on him in January before losing him on a free transfer next summer following the expiration of his contract. Thomas Frank is better off giving Archie Gray some minutes instead, with the England U-21 international already proving his worth in the limited game time he has enjoyed this season.
