Tottenham Hotspur have struck gold by landing Mohammed Kudus in the summer
Mohammed Kudus has let his football do the talking under Thomas Frank this season. When the Ghana international arrived at N17, not many Tottenham fans were overly excited about the signing, with some questioning whether he had what it takes to perform at a club of Spurs’ stature. But credit where it’s due, the 25-year-old has made an immediate impact at N17 since completing his move from West Ham United.
The prolific winger is already leading the Premier League charts for assists and successful take-ons this season. This just proves how important he has been for the North London club as they continue to build on last season’s Europa League success. The Ghanaian’s home debut for Spurs was enough evidence to know that he has all the attributes to become a world-class player at N17.

However, Kudus’ standout performance so far came in Tottenham’s recent clash against Leeds United at Elland Road. The prolific winger played a pivotal role in helping the Lilywhites secure all three points, grabbing an assist and scoring his first goal for the club in the second half. His performance was so impressive that he was deservedly named ‘Man of the Match’ once the final whistle blew.
Mohammed Kudus is enjoying life at Tottenham
Sometimes, you just know when a player belongs on the biggest stage, and that’s exactly how Spurs fans feel about Mohammed Kudus right now. The 25-year-old has been instrumental in helping the Lilywhites climb to third in the Premier League table, just two points behind leaders Arsenal. His consistent performances have made Tottenham genuine contenders for a top-four finish this season.
Now, John Wenham has urged the Tottenham fans to ‘embrace’ Kudus and enjoy his performances for the club. Speaking to Tottenham News, Wenham said,
“He looks like a Bayern Munich or a Liverpool-like player. We should be embracing that. We shouldn’t be worried about anything and should be embracing it. We’ve got this amazing player who not only brings so much to the team in terms of his possession of the ball, winning duels, and getting us on the front foot.”
The Lilywhite Rose owner added,
“But if he’s now delivering multiple assists and goals as well, we’re onto something really special. I think he’s an outstanding player. I think he’s already worth significantly more than the £55million that was paid for him. It seems incredibly cheap in the market that was this summer, and some of the fees that were being paid. I expect him to carry on, and I expect him, if his form continues, to find himself in the PFA Team of the Year at the end of this season”
It seems like Tottenham struck gold by signing Mohammed Kudus at a discount in the summer. John Wenham is right to urge Tottenham fans to ‘embrace’ Kudus as he provides a new dynamic to the attack under Thomas Frank. The Lilywhite Rose owner believes that the Ghanaian is an ‘outstanding’ player who is only going to get better as the campaign progresses.
Wenham has also made a bold claim that the 25-year-old will end up being included in the PFA Team of the Season if he continues to build on his positive performances. The onus is on Kudus to keep his head down and perform consistently as Spurs aim to compete on all four fronts this season. Thomas Frank is also tasked to get the best out of him by making him the focal point of the attack more often than not.
