Tottenham Hotspur are ready to sell Richarlison as MLS clubs circle

Tottenham Hotspur forward Richarlison was subject to links with a move away from Hotspur Way all summer window. But despite a lot of rumours, no transfer materialised, and he ended up staying at N17. And that has ended up being a thing of rejuvenation, as he has finally found some of his Everton-esque form donning that Lilywhites badge in the ongoing season.

Richy has been a regular starter since Thomas Frank took over the reins at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The former Watford #9 has netted thrice alongside one assist to his name in seven Premier League appearances so far this season as the Lilywhites continue to await the full fitness of Dominic Solanke.

Shoult Tottenham Hotspur sell Richarlison?

Many Tottenham supporters look at Solanke as more of a first-choice striker under the Danish head coach despite the flying form that Richarlison has been enjoying of late. The England international is expected to be back in November despite undergoing ankle surgery a few weeks back.

And despite his recently found purple patch, Richarlison has continued to be linked with a possible 2026 transfer away from Tottenham. Football Insider did end up reporting that the Brazilian would be allowed to leave Hotspur Way.

And with the January transfer window around the corner, there is a lot of interest in Richy, with an expectation that a possible deal could be agreed.

Now former Tottenham scout Mick Brown has revealed that Richy is open to moving to MLS, and talks have already taken place for a possible exit. Speaking in an exclusive interview with Football Insider, he said:

“If a good offer comes in for him in January, then I expect Tottenham will be ready to let him go.

“Given everybody’s fit, I’m not sure he would have a regular place in Thomas Frank’s team.

“Based on that, he’ll be interested in a move to the MLS as well, and I’m told there have already been talks about whether it could be done.”

TTLB Opinion

Tottenham Hotspur are ready to sell Richarlison as MLS clubs circle.
Richarlison has had fitness problems in his time at N17.

With Dominic Solanke nearing full fitness and the fact that Tottenham are also expected to dip in the transfer market (be it in the winter window or the following summer one) to bring in a new striker means that Richarlison will be further down the pecking order. And given his recent form, selling him now will reap some financial benefits.

Richy has had a chronic injury problem, and given that Tottenham were struggling to sell him before, it shows how the chiefs at N17 were quite frustrated with him. And now when it would not be as difficult to sell him given his form, it looks like the decision-makers would be willing to take that road.
