Tottenham suffer fresh injury blow as Ben Davies is ruled out for several weeks with a hamstring injury
Tottenham Hotspur have been decimated by injuries in each of their last two seasons, and the situation has shown no signs of improving under new boss Thomas Frank.
Spurs are currently without 10 first-team players, with Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie the latest to be added to the treatment table. Romero and Udogie missed the 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa on Sunday, with the former withdrawing from the warm-up following an adductor strain and the latter feeling irritation on his knee after returning from the international break.
During the past international break, Yves Bissouma was stretchered off with an ankle injury in Mali’s 4-1 win over Madagascar in a World Cup qualifier. The midfielder was only returning from a knee injury, which has seen him miss the 2025/26 campaign with Spurs thus far. Another Tottenham player who sustained an injury during the international break was Ben Davies.

Ben Davies suffers fresh hamstring injury on Wales duty
Ben Davies captained Wales as he won his 100th international cap in their 4-2 World Cup qualifying loss to Belgium on 13 October, but was forced off in the second half with a hamstring problem. Thomas Frank has now confirmed that the veteran defender could be out of action for some time with the injury.
“Ben Davies is out with a hamstring injury, it could be weeks,” Frank told the club media before Tottenham’s trip to AS Monaco in the Champions League.

While an exact timeline is not given for the defender’s return, Davies could be out until the end of the November international break. The 32-year-old getting injured again only after returning to full fitness earlier this month is a blow for him and Tottenham. This depletes the Lilywhites’ defensive depth further following Romero’s adductor strain and Udogie’s knee problem.
Although the Wales international is no longer a starter and was only handed a one-year contract extension to make the numbers in the squad, losing him for weeks does stretch the defensive unit at Frank’s disposal. Without Romero and Davies, Frank has now just Micky van de Ven and Kevin Danso as the only fully fit centre-backs. Hence, the north Londoners really can’t afford either of Van den Ven and Danso to get injured, especially if Romero also misses the upcoming games.
That said, our gaffer will hope Radu Dragusin and Kota Takai recovery fully from their respective injuries and help the team out.
