Tottenham Hotspur are planning to make a big-money offer for Al Ahli striker Ivan Toney in the January transfer window
Tottenham Hotspur spent heavily on attacking talents during the summer transfer window, bringing in the likes of Mathys Tel, Xavi Simons, Mohammed Kudus and Randal Kolo Muani, who joined on loan from Paris Saint-Germain.
Spurs are looking to bounce back after a historically low 17th-place finish last term, but their strong start to the season in the Premier League have dealt setbacks in recent weeks. Thomas Frank’s side lost 2-1 to Aston Villa at home on Sunday- their second defeat of the Premier League campaign. The defeat highlighted Tottenham’s lack of ruthless edge to their attack and depth.
Thomas Frank has been unable to use club-record signing Dominic Solanke due to injury. He underwent a minor ankle surgery earlier this month, thus, ruling the striker out for several weeks. Therefore, the Lilywhites are in need of another No.9, and could be ready to splash the cash when the transfer window reopens in January.
Al Ahli striker Ivan Toney has emerged on Tottenham’s radar. Adding fuel to the speculation, Thomas Frank recently did not rule out the possibility of reuniting with Ivan Toney, admitting that the 29-year-old would be a solid addition due to his proven goal-scoring ability and experience.

Tottenham preparing big-money offer for Ivan Toney
Now, according to a report from Fichajes, Tottenham are preparing a €60 million offer for Toney as they aim to bolster their forward line. Chelsea also are interested in the England international, who has not ruled out staying in the Saudi Pro League, but returning to the Premier League remains a key objective.
The centre-forward joined Al Ahli from Brentford in the summer of 2024 and has proven a fantastic acquisition. He scored 30 goals last season in all competitions and has started the 2025/26 campaign very well, grabbing the attention of Spurs and Chelsea. Al Ahli paid £40 million to sign Toney from Brentford, and should they consider selling him in 2026, they’d want to make a handsome profit on him.
Toney needs no introduction for the Premier League fans. He proved himself in the English top-flight, netting 67 goals in 128 games for Brentford. Chelsea is considering an impact alternative in January after spending on Liam Delap and Joao Pedro in the summer and have set their sights on the Al Ahli star.

As for Spurs, Frank is looking for a new starting No.9 after being unconvinced by both Richarlison and Solanke. The Dane has coached Toney at Brentford, and knowing the Spurs gaffer’s system and style of play, the striker can settle in quickly and make an instant impact in N17. Due to his output, form, experience, and most importantly injury record, he would be an immediate upgrade on Richarlison.
That said, it will be interesting to see whether Al Ahli would accept €60 million for Toney in January. He has a contract until 2028 and that could see the Saudi Arabian club ask for more money from Spurs.
