Cristian Stellini admits Tottenham Hotspur forward Arnaut Danjuma deserves more game time
Tottenham Hotspur manager Cristian Stellini has admitted that Arnaut Danjuma deserves more game time for the North London side.
The Holland international joined the Lilywhites in the previous transfer window on loan from Villarreal until the end of the season. However, the winger has hardly seen any first-team action since his arrival at Spurs.
Speaking to the media via football.london, Stellini, who was appointed acting head coach after Antonio Conte’s departure, is certain Danjuma will get an opportunity considering Tottenham’s lack of options in the attack.
“Now for sure because we don’t have many players but Danjuma deserves to play probably early but we also have a squad and some leaders of our team and if you send them out of the team then you can lose the ability to score.”
The Holland international has made four appearances in all competitions, scoring one goal which came against Preston North End in the 3-0 fourth-round FA Cup win. However, the forward is yet to start a game for the North London side.
Considering Spurs’ attacking strength, it is not surprising to see that the 26-year-old has been on the bench most often. Harry Kane has once again been the Lilywhites’ talisman in the current campaign.
The England international has been the only attacker to find the back of the net this season on a consistent basis. Apart from the 29-year-old, our other forwards have not been up to the mark.
Son Heung-min seems a bit lost at the moment. However, the South Korean’s exploits from the previous campaign cannot be forgotten. Dejan Kulusevski has also been electric since his arrival from Juventus in January 2022.
We also acquired the services of Richarlison last summer. But the Brazilian was on the sidelines at Everton. Lucas Moura is also suspended, having picked up a red card against the Goodison Park side.

Therefore, there is seemingly a possibility that Danjuma will get a chance to feature. However, it remains to be seen whether Stellini will opt to give the Holland international some minutes against Brighton & Hove Albion.
