Tottenham ace Guglielmo Vicario fires back on the comments made by Callum Wilson after impressive victory vs Newcastle
According to Football.London , Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario and the club have issued a strong rebuttal after their impressive 4-1 victory on Sunday when Callum Wilson made a harsh comment just after the match.
In a dramatic turn of events during our impressive 4-1 home win, tensions escalated between the two players. Vicario seemed to taunt Wilson after saving a lacklustre header from the English striker.
Vicario later shared Wilson’s Sky Sports interview on his Instagram Stories, adding the caption:
“I give respect to those who respect me!”
Things escalated when Wilson after the game said that the Spurs keeper made facial expressions and showed his dissatisfaction with his opponent’s behaviour after several confrontations during the game. Just after saying this, Vicario had his say on his Instagram story.
Since Vicario’s arrival from Serie A side Empoli in a £17.2million deal in June, Vicario has proven to be an invaluable asset for Tottenham. He swiftly emerged as one of the league’s finest goalkeepers, filling the void left by the departure of long-standing former captain Hugo Lloris.
Sunday’s victory for Tottenham came at a time just when we needed it so much because for sometimes now, our performances were not good. This became our first victory in the top-flight since October 27 placing us at no 5th position. Richarlison netted two, and son Heung-min, who had an injury, scored one with his compatriots on board. Moreover, Destiny Udogie registered his maiden goal for Spurs as he opened the floodgates.
However, Eddie Howe will be pleased to have Wilson back in the squad for the crucial Champions League match against AC Milan on Wednesday. The Magpies are currently dealing with several injuries and suspensions, which has left them in a difficult situation.

Tottenham’s upcoming schedule includes an away fixture against Nottingham Forest, followed by a challenging clash against the resurgent Everton just before Christmas.
TSpurs will face Brighton in an away game and then play against Bournemouth at home to end the year. We hope we can get our way back to winning just like we did against the Magpies and most importantly keep us in the hunt for the league.
