Florentino Perez to convince Zinedine Zidane over Christian Eriksen move

There could be a battle brewing at Real Madrid over who they sign in the midfield.

ESPN reports that Florentino Perez wants Christian Eriksen but Zinedine Zidane’s priority is a move for Paul Pogba.

The Dane is out of a contract at Tottenham at the end of the season and had spoken about a desire to play for Real after the Champions League final.

Eriksen has been one of the average performers for Spurs in this campaign, and Mauricio Pochettino’s boys have struggled in all competitions.

The Real Madrid president believes that €30million could be enough to land Eriksen in January, however, the Dane wants to move at the end of the season where he can demand a large signingon fee (h/t ESPN).

Manchester United are uninterested in selling Pogba, despite Zidane’s interest in the Frenchman (h/t ESPN).

Pogba too hasn’t been at his best this season, with the Red Devils just two points above the relegation zone.

Perez will try to convince the manager that Real need to sign a player like Eriksen, and hope to get the deal done in the winter window (h/t ESPN).

Selling now would be the best option for Spurs

Keeping Eriksen until the end of the season doesn’t make sense at the moment. It seems like his head is somewhere else, and the best option would be to sell him in January.

Tottenham would get some amount from his move, and we could try to land someone else in the winter window too.

However, Zidane needs convincing that Eriksen is the right man for the job. The Dane could leave on a free at the end of the season, which would be great for him and not as much for us.
