Barcelona willing to loan Tottenham target Carles Alena
Carles Alena is one of the rising stars in the Barcelona team but isn’t getting regular first-team minutes.
The 21-year-old has only 46 minutes of La Liga football under his belt this season but has made five appearances in the Copa del Rey.
Tottenham are interested in landing the midfielder, according to Mundo Deportivo (h/t Daily Star) and were linked with him in the summer too.
The youngster has to play regular football to continue his development, and Sport claims that Alena will be allowed to leave on loan in January.
The report adds that Barca prefer sending the Spaniard to another La Liga club, with Celta Vigo, Real Betis, Getafe and Granada keen on the 21-year-old.
No permanent deal for Alena
Barca want the youngster to pick up minutes in the second half of the campaign but will not include a clause to make the move permanent (h/t Sport).
It will be interesting to see if we make a serious offer for the Spaniard after the latest findings.
Signing him on a short-term deal doesn’t make a lot of sense given that players need time to adjust to a new country. However, a two-year loan wouldn’t be the worst option, with talks of a permanent move later if all parties are interested.
