Tottenham joined by Barcelona in the race for Kalidou Koulibaly
Barcelona have entered the race to sign Tottenham target Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli, according to Football.London.
The Senegalese star has been linked with a move to Tottenham, with the defensive rebuild a priority for Joe Mourinho.
The 28-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United during Jose Mourinho’s tenure and the Portuguese manager seems set to renew his interest in bringing the towering defender to Spurs.
Spurs have had the worst defensive record in the league since Mourinho arrived. Senior players such as Jan Vertonghen and Danny Rose have not committed their future and Toby Alderweireld looks off the pace. Mourinho has also admitted to being unsure of our best defensive lineup. (h/t Daily Mail)
According to El Desmarque, Tottenham are in talks with Napoli over Koulibaly for a fee of around €100m. (h/t Football.London)
Koulibaly has asked to leave the club and by setting a price tag on the defender, Napoli have indicated their willingness to sell the player. However, Barcelona are also interested in the player now.
