Luis Binks leaves Tottenham in search of first-team opportunities
Talented defender Luis Binks has left the club to join MLS side Montreal Impact, according to Daily Mail.
The 18-year-old had grown frustrated with his lack of first-team football at Spurs. The youngster is a regular in the Tottenham Under 23 side and was regarded as one of the finest young defenders at the club. The youngster has been a regular in Tottenham’s U23s, U18s, and UEFA Youth League this season.
Manager Jose Mourinho sought to intervene personally upon hearing the youngster’s desire to leave. Unfortunately for Tottenham, Binks has chosen to team up with Arsenal legend Thierry Henry for the Canada-based MLS side.
Mourinho has shown a willingness to trust in youth. He has helped Japhet Tanganga and Ryan Sessegnon make the step up to become first-team regulars over the past few weeks.
It can be argued that he was forced to play Tanganga due to his injury crisis but credit has to be given to our Portuguese gaffer for sticking with the youngster given his impressive performances.
