Twitter reacts to Christian Eriksen comments on winning trophies at Inter
Christian Eriksen has opened a pandora’s box by stating that he has more chances of winning trophies at Inter Milan compared to Tottenham. (h/t Sky Sports)
The Dane has had a frosty relationship with the club since he tried to engineer a move last summer. With him refusing to sign an extension, Spurs sold him to Inter Milan for £16.9 million in January.
The 27-year-old has been on the lookout for a new challenge following the Champions League final loss to Liverpool last season.
The Danish international’s comments will not have gone down well with the Tottenham faithful, who idolized the midfielder in his time at North London. It is fair to say that the relationship has soured over the course of the past few months.
The midfielder has won a number of individual accolades during his time in London. However, a trophy has eluded him since he won the Johan Cruyff Shield in 2013 with Ajax.
Eriksen has been part of a Spurs squad that always seemed to fall at the last hurdle. The Dane has two runner ups medals with Tottenham – one for the League Cup in 2015 and the other for the UEFA Champions League in 2019.
Tottenham fans took to Twitter to express their views on the midfielder’s comments. We take a look at a few of them below.

The thing is, spurs would knock out inter in a R16 meeting in CL. I don’t think Inter is a better team than spurs especially on a ucl night

Perhaps if he'd turned up in Madrid he might have won one with Spurs last season.

Bloke was literally in a champions league final in June and was nowhere to be seen

Just thinking, all those people who said Poch, Kane and Eriksen would have to go to Madrid if they wanted to win trophies, were right all along. Fair play.
