Harry Kane makes Manchester United transfer decision
According to Spanish outlet Diario Madridista (h/t The Express), Harry Kane has informed Tottenham Hotspur that he will not be joining Manchester United in the summer. However, he has also revealed that he will only move if Real Madrid makes an offer.
The England captain was previously linked with a move to the Bernabeu. The Los Blancos held talks with Mauricio Pochettino when he was in charge of the north Londoners.
Tottenham’s league position could lead to them missing out on next season’s Champions League which has led Kane to reconsider his future at the club, as per Diario Madridista (h/t The Express).
The report goes on to claim that the La Liga giants are the only side that Kane is willing to swap North London for. Apart from Madrid, the likes of Manchester United, Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona are all said to be interested in signing Kane.
It was reported earlier that the 26-year-old was keen to make a move to United to be part of Ole Gunnar Solksjaer’s rebuild. However, it now looks like he would rather make the move to Spain to link up with Zinedine Zidane.
The player ‘s contract at Tottenham runs until 2024 and the club will not let him go for cheap. With Spurs’ looking increasingly unlikely to make next season’s Champions League, Kane could have a decision to make next summer.
The same was repeated by ESPN pundit Shaka Hislop who believes that the player should move to Real Madrid or Barcelona if they come calling.
The English captain has 181 goals and 30 assists in 278 appearances for Spurs. He is currently third in the Tottenham Hotspur all-time goalscorers list behind Jimmy Greaves and Bobby Smith.
