Raul Jimenez the ideal replacement for Harry Kane reckons Kevin Phillips
Wolves’ striker Raul Jimenez would be the ideal replacement for Tottenham superstar Harry Kane, according to Kevin Phillips (h/t Metro).
Kane’s future has become a subject of intense speculation ever since he made a statement regarding his future last month. The 26-year-old stated that he would consider leaving Spurs in case he felt our club wasn’t moving in the right direction.
Ever since, the rumour mill has been buzzing with the likes of Manchester United and Real Madrid getting linked with our star striker (h/t Express).
And now, former Sunderland striker has claimed that should Kane end up leaving Tottenham in the summer window, Wolves’ star Raul Jimenez would be the ideal replacement. Speaking to Football Insider (h/t Metro), Phillips said that the Mexican international has all the attributes to thrive in our team.
“If Kane was to leave I think Jimenez has already shown what he is capable of. He would be the perfect fit for the players that Tottenham have got. I think it would be an ideal fit. Jimenez has shown he can take the knocks and the bumps and dish it out as well. He suits Mourinho as well – can hold the ball up.”
The 46-year-old also added that Jimenez might not turn out to be as good as Kane, but he would not be far away from the standards our striker has set (h/t Metro).
