Barcelona offer Semedo and Umtiti in exchange for Ndombele
Barcelona are keen on Tanguy Ndombele and are willing to swap two of their defenders for the Frenchman, according to Sky Sports (h/t The Sun).
The two players that are being offered are Nelson Semedo and Samuel Umtiti. The report adds that Barca want to bolster their midfield and are keen on the France international.
Ndombele joined Spurs for £55m. However, the 23-year-old hasn’t performed to his best since moving to England (h/t The Sun).
There have been issues with Jose Mourinho, with the manager criticising him in the past. Recently, he got into trouble after the gaffer took him for an outdoor training session, violating lockdown rules.
Ndombele has worked under two managers in his short spell at Spurs, and he started off well under former boss Mauricio Pochettino.
The Frenchman is certainly an expensive signing and letting him go after one season would be questionable, but the deal from Barca could solve a lot of issues.
Our defence is sorted?
The report adds that Barca have cash problems and are keen on doing swap deals rather than spending money.
Umtiti and Semedo could be decent additions to our defence, especially with our struggles at the back.
Jan Vertonghen is a free agent at the end of the season while we aren’t sure of who our best right-back is.
Serge Aurier has been linked with AC Milan in recent weeks, while Kyle Walker-Peters was sent away on loan in January.
Umtiti has had his injury problems since joining the Catalans. The Frenchman has also seen added competition for starting spots with the arrival of Clement Lenglet.
Umtiti only started nine La Liga games for Barca this season while Semedo was more regular with 16 stars in the league.
