Tottenham Hotspur Stadium comes up trumps at the mondo*dr Awards 2020
As confirmed by the club’s official site, the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has won an award in the Stadium category at the mondo*dr Awards 2020.
Organized by the team behind mondo*dr magazine, the mondo*dr awards were launched in 2017 to recognize and celebrate the best installation projects from around the globe. Award categories include nightclubs, bars, and restaurants, theatres, concert halls, places of worship, stadiums, arenas and parks, and attractions.
The nomination for our home stadium was put forward by Populous, the architects who undertook the design.
We were nominated alongside some of the best stadiums in the including two that we have already visited this year. The two venues are the Allianz Arena and the King Power stadium. Having lost both visits, this victory will come as a small consolation for Spurs.

It will be the second award won by the stadium in as many months. Our home was recently adjudged as the Venue of the Year at the 11th edition of TheStadiumBusiness Awards.
With coronavirus bringing football operations to a halt, the venue has now been handed over to the NHS.
Player areas have been transformed into a facility for North Middlesex Hospital’s Women’s Outpatient Services, assisting the redirection of pregnant women away from the hospital itself.
The huge basement car park is being used to accommodate drive-through COVID-19 testing, the first stadium in London to be used for this purpose. This facility has since been expanded.
The pocket-pitch is being used as a food distribution hub by Haringey Council. In collaboration with the London Food Alliance, they ensure that the produce reaches the most vulnerable and in-need within our community.
