Tottenham target Eberechi Eze wishes to play at a highest level

In an interview with Sky Sports, QPR attacker Eberechi Eze, who has been linked with Tottenham Hotspur, has claimed that he dreams of playing football ‘at the highest level’.

The 21-year-old Eze started out at the academy of our rivals Arsenal, before having stints with Fulham, Reading and Millwall. The attacking midfielder moved to QPR in 2016 and has become a regular member of the first-team after a brief loan spell at Wycombe Wanderers.

Till date, Eze has featured 103 times for QPR, scoring 18 goals and setting up 13 more. The 21-year-old has been in fine form in 2019/20, having bagged 12 goals and 8 assists in the EFL Championship.

This kind of form has put the youngster on the radars of Tottenham. The Sun reported that our scout Brian Carey was in attendance to watch Eze in action in QPR’s 3-1 win against Preston in March.

“The most important thing is what I’m doing on the pitch and as long as I continue to focus on that, everything else will fall into place. I want to play at the highest level.”

While Eze has been in scintillating form, the same cannot be said about QPR. They find themselves well away from the playoff positions. And with just a year left on the 21-year-old’s contract, there is a distinct possibility that they could decide to cash in on him should a suitable offer come in.

But his desire to play at the highest level and QPR’s inability to provide that might work in our favour, should the club decide to make a move for the Englishman come summer.
