Tottenham among five Premier League clubs monitoring 19-year-old Dejan Zukic
According to a report from the Daily Star, Tottenham are embroiled in a five-way Premier League battle for Vojvodina attacking midfielder Dejan Zukic, who has been likened to Sergej-Milinkovic Savic.
The 19-year-old Zukic is a product of the Vojvodina youth academy and is enjoying a breakthrough season with the Serbian outfit. In the 2019/20 campaign, the midfielder has featured 28 times across all competitions, bagging six goals in the process.
Having impressed with his performances, Zukic has drawn comparisons with Vojvodina academy alumni and Lazio midfield star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, who has been linked with Tottenham in the past. (h/t Daily Star)
And now, Tottenham have joined the race to sign the 19-year-old Zukic from the Serbian club. We will, however, face competition from four other Premier League clubs. These include our arch rivals Arsenal along with Leicester City, Everton and Southampton. (h/t Daily Star)
Along with the five Premier League clubs, Serie A giants Inter Milan and Greek outfit Olympiacos have also shown an interest in the teenager and have already submitted enquiries, as per the report.
The report adds that Tottenham may have to offload some of the first-team stars, such as Erik Lamela, in order to be able to bring in new faces this summer.

In a short time at the first-team level, Zukic has made a solid impression. However, signing a new attacking midfielder might not be the topmost concern for Tottenham at this point. There are multiple positions that we need to strengthen at the earliest.
Funds are likely to be tight at manager Jose Mourinho’s disposal this summer because of the coronavirus crisis. Given the circumstances, the Portuguese will have to go about things in the transfer market very smartly.
