Tottenham are favourites to sign South Korean international Kim Min-jae
According to a report from Sunday Mirror (h/t Football.london), Tottenham Hotspur are now the favourites to sign South Korean international Kim Min-jae, thanks to the presence of Son Heung-min at the club.
The 23-year-old Kim has played majority of his football in South Korea. In January 2019, the centre-back moved to Chinese Super League side Beijing Guoan and has made 34 appearances for the club till date. The centre-back has thirty caps for the South Korean national team.
Nicknamed “The Monster” because of his imposing 6’3” stature, Kim has emerged as a transfer target for a host of clubs in England and Europe. (h/t Guardian)
Kim is being courted by Everton, Southampton, Watford in the Premier League, while RB Leipzig, Porto and Lazio are all interested in signing the South Korean international. (h/t Guardian)
However, Tottenham have jumped ahead of the queue to land the 23-year-old this summer. This is mainly due to the presence of South Korea captain Son Heung-min at the club. The 27-year-old has shared the dressing room with Kim for the national team and his influence could help us land the defender. (h/t Football.london)
Given the number of clubs vying for his signature, the 23-year-old seems to be packed with potential. With Tottenham in need of urgent reinforcements at the heart of the defence, signing Kim would be a good option for the club. More so, considering the fact that Beijing Guoan are willing to sell him for just £13.5m.
