Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig interested in Tottenham target Ben Godfrey
According to a report from The Sun, Tottenham are set to face serious competition from Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig in the race to sign Norwich City youngster Ben Godfrey.
The 22-year-old came through the youth ranks at York City and made the switch to Norwich in January 2016. After a loan spell at Shrewsbury Town in 2017/18, the youngster has become an integral member of the Canaries’ first-team.
Having helped the club to promotion from the Championship last season, Godfrey has impressed in his debut campaign in the Premier League this season. Despite the club’s struggles and impending relegation, he has been one of the handful of players to have made a decent impression in his 25 league games.
This has led to interest from a number of top clubs in England and Europe, with Tottenham among the teams monitoring the youngster. (h/t The Sun)
It is no secret that our defence has struggled this season and is need of some fresh additions, especially with Jan Vertonghen set to leave once his deal runs out at the end of the season.
Godfrey, to that end, would be a viable option for the club. The youngster has some degree of exposure to Premier League football and at 22, has room for development. Valued at a reasonable £25m, signing him wouldn’t burn a hole in the club’s pockets as well.
However, we will have to battle against German heavyweights Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig, both of whom are keen on the Englishman.

Norwich could be forced to sell the 22-year-old should they end up getting relegated. But the fact that both Dortmund and
