Isak Solberg signs first professional contract with Tottenham
Teenage goalkeeper Isak Solberg has put pen to paper on his first-ever professional contract with Tottenham Hotspur, the youngster confirmed via his Instagram account.
Solberg joined Tottenham from Norwegian outfit Bryne last summer. Six months prior to that he had undergone two trials with the club’s U18s and U16s.
Solberg was reported to have signed a three-year deal on his arrival, which would see him be part of the academy set-up for the first two years before turning professional and get a wage increase in the final year. (h/t Football.london)
However, taking to Instagram on Monday night, the Norwegian goalkeeper has confirmed he has signed his first-ever professional contract with the London club.
“Absolutely thrilled to sign my first professional contract with @spursoffical. A big thank you to my family, my friends and everyone who has been there for me.”
Solberg, who turned 17 last month, has featured for our U18 side so far. Having penned his first professional contract, the youngster will be aiming to kick on and continue his progress and make his way into the first-team sooner rather than later.

This comes after the club recently handed a new contract to Maurizio Pochettino, while young goalkeeper Jonathan De Bie has also been offered a new deal.
With Michel Vorm set to leave the club at the end of the season, there could be a spot open in the squad for the third-goalkeeper. Solberg, though, may have to wait for his opportunity.
