Transfer News: Tottenham look set to miss out on Paulo Dybala.

Agent of Paulo Dybala dismisses Juventus exit speculations

As reported by the Daily Star, Jorge Antun, the agent of Juventus star and long-time Tottenham target Paulo Dybala, has dismissed speculations of a summer exit from the Serie A champions.

Dybala came ever so close to joining Tottenham last year, but Daniel Levy pulled the plug on the deal at the last moment, owing to concerns over the player’s image rights. (h/t Football.london)

Having stayed put at Juventus, the 26-year-old Argentine international enjoyed a fine season, leading the Bianconeri to another Serie A title. He finished the campaign with bagging 17 goals and 14 assists in 46 matches in all competitions and was named the Serie A MVP of the Season for his exploits with the Turin-based outfit.

However, reports in Italian media (h/t Daily Star), claimed that Juventus were looking to offload Dybala following the managerial change which saw Andrea Pirlo replace Maurizio Sarri. This seemed to have offered a second bite at the cherry with regard to signing the 26-year-old.

But, Dybala’s agent, Antun has poured cold water on rumours claiming that his client is on his way out from Turin. (h/t Daily Star)

“I have read the rumours in the newspapers through the last few days and they’re completely false. Paulo Dybala is a Juventus player and happy to be one. We’ll work with the club to renew the contract with our usual attitude as always.”

Even if Dybala was up for sale, it was unlikely that we would have been able to afford his transfer this summer. Reports claimed that Juventus want £100m for the Argentine international, which is well out of our reach currently, with Jose Mourinho operating on a tight budget this summer.
