Tottenham made enquiry to re-sign Christian Eriksen

Speaking on the Last Word on Spurs podcast (h/t Football.london), respected journalist Fabrizio Romano has sensationally claimed that Tottenham Hotspur made an enquiry to bring back Christian Eriksen just six months after selling him to Inter Milan.

The 28-year-old joined Tottenham in 2013 from Ajax and spent six-and-a-half years at the club, during which he made he made over 300 appearances, scoring 69 goals and creating 89 more. (h/t Transfermarkt)

Having entered the final year of his contract with Spurs last summer, the Danish international decided to leave in January, joining Serie A heavyweights Inter Milan.

While the Nerazzurri finished second in Serie A and made it to the finals of the Europa League, things haven’t gone all too well for Eriksen on a personal note. The 28-year-old hasn’t been able to find his best form and as a result has been in and out of the starting XI under Antonio Conte.

This has led to speculations over his future in Italy just six months after making the move.

And now, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, has claimed that Tottenham made an enquiry over the possibility of re-signing Eriksen. However, he does add that the possibility of such a deal happening are minimal. (h/t Football.london)

“One of my sources told me Tottenham were asking to take Christian Eriksen back. But immediately after, like two hours after, I spoke with Inter and they told me there is no chance to see Christian Eriksen back at Tottenham. So, this isn’t a possibility.”
