Tottenham players have stepped up their preparations in training as the 2020/21 Premier League opener looms large.
Jose Mourinho’s troops kick things off in the new season with a game against Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday evening. With a strengthened side, the Toffees will pose a danger and the players will need to be at the best to tackle them.
So, there can be no slacking off in preparations and the players looked sharp in training ahead of the season opener on this Sunday.
Summer signing Matt Doherty, who arrived from Wolverhampton Wanderers, was pictured training with his new teammates after having returned from international duty. This was the Irishman’s first training session at the Hotspur Way facility. And here we bring you a set of pictures from the session, that the club shared earlier today.

The pre-season saw Tottenham play four fixtures. The club picked up wins against Ipswich Town (3-0), Reading (4-1), Birmingham City (1-0), before succumbing to a defeat against Watford this past weekend.
With less than a week for our first game against Everton, it bodes well that the Tottenham Hotspur players have had some sort of match practice.
A busy period lies ahead with a trip to Bulgaria soon after for the UEFA Europa League second-qualifying round, which will be followed by a trip to Southampton in the Premier League. Days later we will be involved in the Carabao Cup clash, once again away from home.
