Brighton and Leeds United interested in Juan Foyth
According to El Periodico (h/t Leeds Live), Brighton & Hove Albion and Leeds United are interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur defender Juan Foyth this summer.
The 22-year-old Foyth joined Tottenham in 2017 from Argentine outfit Estudiantes. But, in his three years at the club, the versatile defender hasn’t been able to establish himself as a regular in the Spurs’ first-team.
The 2019/20 campaign was a difficult one for the Argentine international, who had to deal with multiple injuries, while the change of management didn’t help his cause either. Indeed, Foyth received very few opportunities under Jose Mourinho and failed to make the most of those.
With Tottenham and Mourinho looking to generate transfer funds to go after the club’s targets, Foyth has been named as one player who could be sacrificed in the current transfer window. (h/t The Sun)
The 22-year-old Argentine has garnered plenty of interest so far, with Leeds being constantly linked with a move for him. At the same time, there has been interest from La Liga outfit Villarreal as well. And as per the aforementioned report from Il Periodico (h/t Leeds Live), Brighton & Hove Albion are also among the suitors for him.
Although, Leeds Live claims that the South American is currently not a priority for Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa, after they signed Robin Koch.

Foyth is a talented youngster who has been unlucky with injuries. Considering his age and potential, the club would be better off loaning him out for a year rather than outright selling him. Should he perform well, Mourinho can integrate him back into the squad or sell for a bigger fee than what the club get now.
