Tanguy Ndombele decides to stay at Tottenham Hotspur
According to French publication L’Equipe (h/t Football.london), Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele has decided to stay put at the club, amid speculations over his future.
The 23-year-old joined the club from Olympique Lyon in a club-record deal last summer. However, his first season at Tottenham was fraught with injury problems, which hampered his progress a great deal.
In fact, the Frenchman was completely out of favour under Jose Mourinho, who criticised the player publicly on a number of occasions. This eventually led to speculations that all was not well between the pair and Ndombele wanted out of the club.
However, things have looked bright for Ndombele since the new season. The midfielder has been able to get some crucial game time this season and scored the all-important winning goal against Lokomotiv Plovdiv in the Europa League game earlier in the week.
This was rewarded with a start against Southampton in the Premier League earlier today, when he played an integral role in the equalising goal on the verge of half-time. With him enjoying a turnaround of fortunes, it seems like Ndombele has made a U-turn on his future and is ready to stay put at the club. (h/t Football.london)
There had been reports in the rumour mill claiming that Tottenham were ready to cash in on the club-record signing as well. However, after his recent performances, and Mourinho’s praising comments, it seems extremely unlikely that Ndombele will be shown the doors.

It is great to see Ndombele finally showing glimpses of what he can bring to the table. And, his performances are being rewarded by Mourinho. With the Frenchman now deciding to stay at the club, hopefully, he goes from strength to strength with each passing game.
