Habib Diallo keen on Tottenham Hotspur switch
It is no secret that the club are in dire need of a new striker. Spurs’ manager Jose Mourinho has Harry Kane as the only option for the centre-forward role currently, after having loaned out Troy Parrott.
While Son Heung-min and Steven Bergwijn can play through the middle, neither are naturals in the position. And going into the season without a proper backup for Kane would be foolhardy.
A number of players have been linked with a switch to Tottenham to address the issue, with Metz’s Diallo among them. (h/t Football.london)
The 25-year-old Diallo has been with Metz since 2013, having joined them from Generation Foot academy in Senegal. He had two loan spells with Stade Brest, before becoming a regular at the club since 2018.
Diallo led Metz’s promotion push to Ligue 1, bagging 26 goals in the second division in the 2018/19 campaign. Having helped them get promoted, the striker once again impressed in the curtailed 2019/20 season in the top-flight, scoring 12 times in 26 outings. However, he is yet to score in the new season.
Tottenham had an interest in the striker back in January. And reports had claimed that the club were looking to snap him up this summer. (h/t Football.london)
Amidst the speculations, it is now being claimed that Diallo continues to harbour hopes of a transfer to North London. In fact, the forward has made it his ‘priority’ to join Tottenham. (h/t Football.london)

Bringing in a new striker is imperative if we are to achieve success this season. Diallo has been on the club’s radar in the past. And with the striker himself keen, he seems the most viable option for the club to look at as we enter the final phase of the window.
