Tottenham prepare loan-to-buy offer for Milan Skriniar
According to Tutto Mercato Web (h/t Football.london), Tottenham Hotspur are preparing a fresh offer to try and sign Slovakian defender Milan Skriniar from Italian giants Inter Milan.
The 25-year-old has been heavily linked with a switch to Tottenham in the past few weeks. Tottenham’s Technical Director Steve Hitchen was spotted in Milan last week as he held talks with the defender’s agent.
Inter Milan’s sporting director recently dismissed speculations of a sale. However, a transfer is still very much possible – something that the Nerazzurri manager Antonio Conte hinted at after their opening game of the season – when he was an unused substitute.
Inter Milan have been insistent on Tottenham paying €50-55m for Skriniar. However, the North London outfit are reluctant to meet their valuation. (h/t Football.london)
And as per the latest update from Italy (h/t Football.london), Spurs are now preparing a new offer for the Slovakian international. Tottenham will propose an offer of an initial loan deal with an obligation to buy next summer for a transfer fee of around €40m.
A new defender is a must for Tottenham, along with a new striker, before the transfer window closes. Having lost a seasoned pro like Jan Vertonghen, the club needs to replace him with a quality centre-back – something that Skriniar is.

At 25, Skriniar still has his best years ahead of him. He has also gathered plenty of experience at the highest level. So, he can prove to be an excellent signing for the club, for the present and the future. However, it remains to be seen if Inter are willing to accept such a proposal.
