Japhet Tanganga could leave Tottenham Hotspur on loan

According to Football.London, Tottenham Hotspur youngster Japhet Tanganga is amongst the players who could leave the club on loan this summer.

The 21-year-old enjoyed a fine breakthrough campaign last season. He made 11 appearances across all competitions, making the most of his opportunity.

Injuries and a mix of new arrivals look set to deprive the youngster of regular game time this season. With newcomer Matt Doherty and Serge Aurier at the club, Tanganga is at best the third-choice at right-back.

Even in central defence, he will have to contend being a backup to Davinson Sanchez and Eric Dier. Set to be a squad player this season, his best shot at garnering enough game time is to leave the club on loan.

If a move does materialize, he will join the likes of promising youngsters such as Oliver Skipp, Troy Parrott, and Ryan Sessegnon, who have all moved to other clubs on loan.

Tanganga has endured a frustrating few months. The 21-year-old has been struggling with injuries since the back end of the last season and missed a number of fixtures post lockdown. He also had to withdraw from the England Under-21 side due to injury.

The youngster only recently signed fresh terms with Tottenham Hotspur. His new contract will see him stay at the club until 2025.

Tanganga is amongst the best young players at the club. His path to the Spurs first-team is blocked at the moment. He can however make a case for himself if he does impress elsewhere.
