Son Heung-Min reveals how Tottenham Hotspur players reacted to West Ham United collapse
According to Sky Sports (h/t Football.london), Tottenham Hotspur star Son Heung-Min has revealed that he and his teammates are devastated by the result against West Ham United.
Spurs got off to the best possible start as the South Korean scored in the very first minute. Ace striker Harry Kane made it two soon after.
“The lads are devastated for the result, of course.”
The English skipper scored his second of the night when he headed in a Sergio Reguilon cross to give us a comfortable lead. With just eight minutes left in normal time, it appeared nothing could stop us from grabbing all three points.
The unpredictable nature of football reared its head once again. Spurs ended the game with just a point to show for their troubles.
Fabian Balbuena’s effort and an own goal from Davinson Sanchez gave the Hammers hope before Manuel Lanzini scored a stunner deep into stoppage time. It was too much for the Spurs players to take as they collapsed onto their knees when the equalizer hit the net.
Son admitted that the players are devastated. Having dominated for large parts of the game, it was a cruel experience for our players.
“That’s football. It should never happen, but this is football. I don’t wanna feel this again, I think this is a good lesson for us.”
The impressive attacker is keen to ensure this collapse is a one-off. He believes the result is a good experience and will help Spurs from letting their guard down prior to the full-time whistle.

While throwing away a three-goal lead is no joking matter, the players will now have to get up and go again.
Apart from the closing minutes, Spurs dominated the game and impressed in every facet of the match. We can hopefully continue to do the same from next match onwards.
