Tottenham team news: Japhet Tanganga and Eric Dier ruled out for the clash vs LASK

Tottenham Hotspur will be without Eric Dier and Japhet Tanganga for their Europa League fixture against LASK.

According to The Independent, the news was confirmed by Spurs boss Jose Mourinho. Both players were also absent from training on Wednesday.

Dier is nursing his hamstring while Tanganga is recovering from a thigh injury. The duo’s absence has left Mourinho’s with a paucity of options at the heart of his defence.

Mourinho refused to give away anything regarding his team selection. He did however go on to confirm that Davinson Sanchez will start the match.

The Colombian international endured a frustrating night against West Ham United at the weekend. Sanchez put the ball into his own net as the Hammers fought back from 3-0 down to earn a draw.

“The only player I can confirm is starting is Davinson Sanchez, who will be at the press conference.”

Mourinho played down our late collapse as a one-off. He believes the team can play a number of games in the same situation and not experience the same heartbreak.

The boss also hinted that Rose’s time at Spurs could be over. The 30-year-old looked to be on his way out but eventually stayed on at the club. He has been left out of the club’s Europa League and Premier League squads.

Meanwhile, it is not all bad news for us on the injury front. Both Giovani Lo Celso and Erik Lamela are back in training. The duo was absent for our draw against West Ham.

Tottenham have so far shown enough promise to suggest that we are on the cusp of something special. It is now time for us to show that a freak result against West Ham will not derail our season.
