Leeds United tipped to sign Tottenham outcast Danny Rose in January
Speaking to Football Insider, as relayed by Leeds Live, former Premier League striker Kevin Phillips has backed Leeds United to make a move for out-of-favour Tottenham star Danny Rose in January.
The 30-year-old came through the youth ranks at Leeds United itself, before moving to Tottenham in 2007. He became an integral player at the club and was one of the best in his position half-a-decade ago.
However, issues with the club, and a falling out with manager Jose Mourinho meant that Rose doesn’t have a future at Tottenham anymore. The England international spent the second half of the last season on loan at Newcastle United. And, while he is back at the club, the defender has been left out of our PL and Europa League squads.
Rose has been training with the reserves and has played twice in the Premier League 2, to keep his fitness levels up, and has an assist to his name. And Phillips has now backed Rose’s boyhood club to make a move for the 30-year-old in January. (h/t Leeds Live)
“I imagine Leeds would look at Danny Rose. It will not be about money for him at this stage. I imagine Leeds would look at Danny Rose. It will not be about money for him at this stage. It is an area that I think Bielsa will be looking at and Danny Rose – to me, it is a no-brainer.”

Rose’s contract expires at the end of the season. The 30-year-old is clearly not part of Jose’s plans and considering his services for the club, it would only be fair to let him leave once the January window opens. Whether he moves to Leeds, though, remains to be seen.
