Roy Hodgson coy over potential January swoop for Dele Alli
As reported by Football.london, Crystal Palace manager has left the door open for a possible move to sign out-of-favour Tottenham Hotspur star Dele Alli in the January transfer window.
The 24-year-old has been with Tottenham since 2015 but finds himself phased out of the first-team plans by manager Jose Mourinho this season.
Alli has not featured in a Premier League game since making a substitute appearance in the first week of October. While he had been getting playing minutes in the Europa League, the England international played just eight minutes against LASK and was an unused substitute against Royal Antwerp earlier this week.
Naturally, speculations over his future at the club have been flying all over the place. And Hodgson, when quizzed whether Crystal Palace would be interested in making a move for Alli, didn’t rule it out but insisted that a lot of clubs will be vying for his signing should he be made available in January. “You never know. I’m pretty certain that if Dele Alli is ever released in any way, either on loan or to be sold, there will be clubs interested in him because he is a quality player, and I’m certain everyone understands that.”

In total, Alli has featured just eight times in all competitions this term, scoring a couple of goals and assisting one more. (h/t Transfermarkt)
The snub against Antwerp earlier this week doesn’t bode well for the Englishman though, and there is a very distinct possibility that he could be on his way out come January.
