Steven Bergwijn was not threatened by Tottenham signing Gareth Bale
As reported by Football.london, Tottenham Hotspur star Steven Bergwijn has insisted that he was not concerned over his place in the side following the summer signing of Gareth Bale from Real Madrid.
Tottenham brought Bale back to the club seven years after he left for Spain. The 31-year-old Welsh wing-wizard signed on a season-long loan deal from Madrid.
Upon his arrival, many expected him to slot straight into the lineup, alongside Harry Kane and Son Heung-min as Tottenham’s first-choice attacking trio. (h/t Football.london)
When asked if Bale’s signing was a cause for concern, Bergwijn brushed off such suggestions, insisting that depth and competition for places are important to have within the squad. (h/t Football.london)
