Tottenham stars Gareth Bale and Japhet Tanganga set to miss Liverpool clash

Speaking in his pre-match press conference (h/t Football.london), Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho has provided an injury update on Gareth Bale and Japhet Tanganga ahead of the big game against Liverpool.

Tottenham will travel north to lock horns with reigning champions Liverpool at Anfield in a top-of-the-table clash on Wednesday night. And ahead of the big game, Mourinho has claimed that neither Bale nor Tanganga could be available for the trip to Merseyside.

Bale missed the weekend clash against Crystal Palace due to illness and while the manager insisted that the Welshman was back in indoor training, he wasn’t hopeful of the winger being available for the game. (h/t Football.london)

“We still have training session this afternoon. Yesterday he didn’t train with the team. He trained inside, not even outside. In this moment I’d say not but let’s wait for the feelings and let’s see the training session.”

Mourinho also went on to confirm that Tanganga is set for a spell on the sidelines after picking up a shoulder injury in the Europa League game against Royal Antwerp last week. It is another setback for the defender who had only recently made a comeback from another injury spell. (h/t Football.london)

“Against Antwerp on his shoulder, no need for surgery, we believe conservative treatment will get him fit,” admitted the boss. The medical department believes. But a couple of weeks, three weeks will keep him out.”
