Rangers tipped to make January move for Tottenham star Dele Alli
Speaking on talkSPORT (h/t Football.london), former Liverpool and Tottenham midfielder Danny Murphy has tipped Scottish giants Rangers to make an audacious swoop for Dele Alli in January.
The 24-year-old has found game-time hard to come by at Tottenham this season, with Jose Mourinho not using him regularly, especially in the Premier League, where he has just three appearances.
Alli’s lack of involvement under Jose has led to speculations that he could be on his way out of the club in the January transfer window. Fellow PL rivals Everton are reported to be interested in signing the England international, while there has been interest from PSG as well.
Murphy, however, has thrown a surprise name in the mix, claiming that Scottish Premiership leaders Rangers could be a good loan destination for the Tottenham Hotspur star. (h/t Football.london)
“I’m not sure Dele would be up for it. But I thought maybe Stevie G at Rangers could persuade him to go there and win him the title. He’d play every week, score a lot of goals, get his confidence up and impress Gareth Southgate.
“There is an argument to say ‘would that be enough scoring at that level?’ because it is a drop down. But I don’t know. Maybe playing under Stevie is something that he would enjoy.”

Spurs are believed to be ready to let Alli leave in January. However, a transfer to Rangers sounds a little too far-fetched for a player of his level. It remains to be seen if the 24-year-old stays put at the club come January.
