Dele Alli to PSG gathers pace as Mauricio Pochettino gets backing in the transfer market
A report by the Mirror states that Dele Alli moving to PSG has become more likely after newly-appointed boss Mauricio Pochettino is said to be backed in the transfer market by the club.
Dele Alli has had a torrid time under Jose Mourinho. The English midfielder has failed to get starts and has been the subject of criticism from his manager.
The 24-year-old was left on the bench in the weekend win against Leeds United. And now, his move to PSG is more likely with the permanent appointment of Mauricio Pochettino.
Pochettino got the best out of Alli during his time at Spurs. Also, the French club tried to sign the playmaker three times in the summer of 2020. The Ligue 1 champions wanted him on loan after Spurs signed Gareth Bale, but the move never materialized. (h/t Mirror)
A possible reunion?
Spurs have made it clear that neither Alli nor club captain Hugo Lloris will be allowed to leave in the summer. However, the prospect of getting more minutes at PSG and making the England squad at the Euros could appeal to Alli. Moreover, it would mean reuniting with his former boss in Ligue 1.
Alli recently gave his approval to the manager as he was confirmed as the PSG boss. BT Sport posted a picture of Mauricio Pochettino on their Instagram account (h/t football.london) where he was unveiled as the new head coach. Alli proceeded to like that post, hinting towards a possible reunion with the manager.

Alli has obviously lost his place in the starting XI at Spurs. This is evident by the fact that midfielder has made just one start in the Premier League this season. It remains to be seen if he reunites with Poch at PSG this month.
