Manchester City plotting £90m bid for Harry Kane next summer

According to German publication BILD (h/t Daily Mail), Manchester City are readying a £90m offer for prolific Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane in the summer of 2021.

A product of the Tottenham Hotspur academy, Kane has grown into one of the most prolific strikers in Europe over the past half-a-decade. Indeed, in 310 appearances for the club, the 27-year-old has plundered 204 goals and set up 43 more. (h/t Transfermarkt)

Kane has scored 20 or more goals in all competitions in each of the past six seasons. And, he has been red-hot form in the ongoing campaign as well. The England captain has already produced a brilliant tally of 16 goals and 13 assists from 23 appearances in all competitions in 2020/21.

As per the aforementioned report, Manchester City are now eyeing a raid on Tottenham for the striker next summer. It is claimed that manager Pep Guardiola is intent on securing a world-class replacement for Sergio Aguero, who is 32 years old and has been increasingly hampered by injuries this term.

And the Man City boss has seemingly narrowed in on Kane as a viable replacement for the Argentine. In order to sign him up, the Cityzens are understood to be preparing an offer worth £90m for the England captain.

Kane, despite his glittering goal-scoring record for Tottenham, hasn’t won a single trophy in his career. And the 27-year-old hinted last year that he might consider moving away if he felt the club wasn’t moving in the right direction.

However, under Jose Mourinho, things are looking up for Tottenham. Furthermore, it is very much unlikely that Levy would let Kane leave for a fee as less as £90m, given his contract runs till 2024.
