Jose Mourinho urges Tottenham players to ‘forget’ Carabao Cup final and focus on Premier League
As reported by the Independent, Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho has urged his players to turn their focus to other competitions after making it to the Carabao Cup final.
Tottenham reached the finals of the cup competition after overcoming Championship side Brentford 2-0 at home on Tuesday night. This meant that Jose Mourinho has taken us another step closer towards ending a 13-year trophy drought.
Mourinho insisted that he and his players will try everything possible to lift the trophy. However, with the finals to be played in April, the Portuguese tactician has demanded complete focus from his players on the other competitions at hand.

“We are going to try [to lift the trophy]. We have this final in the pocket for three months, we’re going to wait for it so we have to forget it and focus on the Premier League, FA Cup, the Europa League even before the final. We have to be ready in April to fight for the trophy.”
An early goal from Moussa Sissoko and a second-half strike from in-form superstar Son Heung-min was enough to see Tottenham through the finals of the Carabao Cup.
Mourinho also insisted that he was happy with his team’s performance on Tuesday, while at the same time paying a compliment to Brentford, saying that they can get promoted to the Premier League next season.
“[We were] solid enough to win. The game was always under control against a team that are probably coming to play in the Premier League next year.”
