Gedson Fernandes set to leave Tottenham imminently as Torino move looms
According to Italian publication Tuttomercato (h/t Football.london), Gedson Fernandes is set to cut short his Tottenham loan stint, as another temporary spell at Torino beckons.
The Portuguese midfielder joined Tottenham in January last year on an eighteen-month loan deal from SL Benfica. However, he has never quite been able to make any sort of impression and as a result, has struggled to get any meaningful game time under Jose Mourinho.
In almost a year at the club, the 22-year-old has made just 14 appearances across all competitions and is yet to score or assist a single goal. In the ongoing campaign, the Portuguese youngster has featured just two times, providing an indication of his standing at the club. (h/t Transfermarkt)
Manager Jose Mourinho has previously indicated that the midfielder’s loan deal could be terminated prematurely before the end of the January transfer window.
And, as per the aforementioned report, Gedson could be set to leave Tottenham imminently. However, the report further adds that he will not be staying at parent club Benfica. Instead, the 22-year-old midfielder will be sent out on another loan spell, this time to Serie A outfit Torino. (h/t Football.london)

Gedson arrived with immense potential, having made a good impression early in his career at Benfica. However, things have just failed to work out for him in England. So, it should not come as a surprise that his loan spell is set to be terminated well before the agreed upon eighteen-month period.
With less than a week left for the transfer window to close, we could see this deal getting hurried up in the next few days.
