Jose Mourinho reveals clear the air talks with Tottenham ace Dele Alli

According to the Mirror, Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho has held private talks with midfielder Dele Alli to clear the air surrounding his situation at the club.

Alli has been largely out of favour under Mourinho this season. This had seen him get linked with an exit from the club in the winter transfer window. However, the much-touted move for French champions PSG never materialised.

Having stayed put the club, Alli went and spoke to the manager about his situation, as revealed by Mourinho. The Portuguese insisted that the talks were positive and seemed to offer the midfielder a way back into the plans.

Mourinho has hinted at a way back for Alli

“He needs to recover from his injury, he needs to be back to training, and he needs to have a fresh start because in the last few weeks he couldn’t even train so that’s the most important thing. I had a good conversation with him yesterday.

“We spoke around this question that you ask me, and I think we found very common ground. “You know it’s an important period of the season for the team, it’s an important period of the season for him also. We need him, a good Dele Alli.”

It has been a difficult season for Alli. However, with Giovani Lo Celso struggling for fitness, the 24-year-old should get a chance to win his place back in the side once he returns to full fitness that is.
