Gareth Bale keen for a run of games at Tottenham as he sets his eyes on the Euros

According to The Times (h/t Mirror), Tottenham ace Gareth Bale wants to feature on a more consistent basis to make a mark in the Euros. The on-loan Real Madrid star has not been in any sort of form since his pompous return to the club but wants to play more now. With the European Championships just a few months away, Bale wants to make a strong statement with Wales.

Bale was expected to perform much better on his return to North London. It has been anything but. The 31-year-old has faced similar injury and fitness issues in England that plagued his time in Spain. He is yet to complete 90 minutes in any game this season.

There has also been a bit of a falling out with Mourinho who left Bale out of the Everton FA Cup clash citing that Bale lacks ‘desire’.

Now, however, the forward wants to get a run of games in the side as he wants to get fit for the European Championships at the end of this season. He wants Mourinho to play him on a more regular basis and will likely plead the same to his manager.

Bale spoke last November that he wants to be in peak fitness during the Euros. He wanted to play more games and get back the required fitness levels. It remains to be seen if Mourinho considers his wish.

Mourinho still looks unconvinced by Bale and he looks like an expensive mistake by the club with each passing day. The club are shelling out a massive £250,000-a-week to keep him at the club despite him scoring just a handful of goals for the side.
