Villarreal prioritise permanent transfer of Tottenham loanee Juan Foyth
According to Spanish publication Diario AS (h/t Football.london), 2020/21 UEFA Europa League champions Villarreal are intent on making the transfer of Juan Foyth from Tottenham permanent this summer.
Foyth has been with Tottenham Hotspur since 2017, having arrived from Argentine outfit Estudiantes. However, the versatile defender has never quite been able to nail down a place in the starting XI with the North London giants.
Having fallen way down the pecking order under former Spurs boss Jose Mourinho, Foyth joined Villarreal last summer on a season-long loan deal. As part of the loan agreement, the La Liga giants having the option of making the transfer permanent this year for a fee of £12.8m.
Since moving to El Madrigal, Foyth has absolutely thrived under former Arsenal manager Unai Emery. The 23-year-old featured 32 times across all competitions for the Yellow Submarine, scoring one goal and setting up two more. (h/t Transfermarkt)
Foyth has displayed his array of versatility, having done the job for Villarreal as a centre-back, a defensive midfielder and right-back. In fact, the Argentine international put up one of his finest displays at right-back in the finals of the UEFA Europa League against Manchester United, completely taking Marcus Rashford out of the game.
Having been left heavily impressed by his performances, Villarreal have now made it an absolute priority to get the permanent deal for Foyth over the line at the earliest possible. (h/t Football.london)

Foyth, for his part, is said to be keen on making such a move as well. The Argentine is said to be more settled at the club. So, there is a very good chance that this deal goes through imminently.
